The process

The process begins with few preparations that we require to be done by the customer prior to our visit. Those include decluttering underneath the beds and the floor level in the bedrooms. Items sealed in plastic boxes or air-tight bags are absolutely inaccessible to the bed bugs, as they cannot climb the smooth plastic surface or go through it. Bed bugs cannot as well go through fabrics, so they cannot be found inside pillows, duvets or clothes, apart from pockets and seams.

Please note that our bed bug treatments work perfectly well with a wide range of insects, such as carpet beetle and its larvae, cockroaches, fleas, flies and other flying insects, fabric and food moth, spiders, woodworms and furniture beetles, stored product insects (SPIs) and others.

The next step of the preparation is the hot wash at 60 degrees Celsius of all the bedding-cases of the pillow and duvet/blanket and the bed sheets. The pillows themselves, as well as the duvet/blanket may not be necessarily washed, those could be shaken through the window or outside the property. This is applying for delicate fabrics or clothes that cannot be hot washed and customer wants to make sure that those are clean before storing them in plastic boxes or containers, which is the best practice. In the end, the property should be thoroughly vacuum cleaned and the vacuum contents disposed of in a safe manner, by sealing them before binning.

Our bed bug hunters assess afterwards all possible risks, associated with the general situation there and the property itself. They are always ready to treat on the same visit, which is saving time and money. Of course, sometimes we inspect only and in such cases we may have to charge our call out fee. Otherwise, when we inspect and treat on the same visit, our customer pays for the treatment only. We do not calculate any cost for the inspection and risk assessment when we treat in one go. We exterminate and control bed bug infestations of all types and levels within a certain number of treatments, which is always a matter of chance.

In a lot of cases we manage with just one up to two treatment, bearing in mind that the benchmark set by the British Pest Control Association (BPCA) is minimum 3 full chemical treatments for bed bugs. In cases where subsequent visits are required, we provide heavy discounts and free treatments. Our bed bug technicians are very knowledgeable and thorough, as they treat the whole property, including hallways and common areas in the property, all the furniture in all rooms. We do not charge anything for those common areas, if the customer agrees to treat the whole property, as per the best practice codes for bed bug control in the UK.
